Would I recommend it ? Yes , in fact as soon as I hearded about this book I went and started telling my friends about , and in Aug , I did a buddy read with a friend who ended up loving it just as much as I did ,so much in fact that we plan to do a buddy read for the next book.

Would I read more by this author ? Yes , to the point that I'm looking forward to her next book in this series .

Would I read more of this series ?Yes

Now on to my thoughts :First off a big thanks to these publishers Bookouture, Second Sky/Forever as well as to the author Kaylie Smith and NetGalley, for not only the invite to read and review it on NetGalley but also for sending me a physical ARC copy of it to read. Now on to my thoughts: what first caught my attention was the beautiful cover and second was that it was a dark fantasy romance ( which is right up my alley, but it's so much more then that one genre ,because it comes off like a dark fantasy Gothic paranormal horror romance) it has eventhing in it that I love , Vampires, ghosts, demons, Devils , wraiths and so much more, plus it takes place in New Orleans which is a place I would love to visit someday because of its history with the paranormal. And let's not for get it has 2 of my tropes. And the setting of the story give it the perfect Atmosphere, which means I didn't want to put this book down , but at the same time I kept saying to my self even though Blackwell is hot, there would be no way in the world I would step in Phantasma. The way the author brought Phantasma alive as well as her characters was done in such a way that it was like I could literally reach out and touch them or that I could hear and see what they saw , out of the characters my to all time favorite was of course Blackwell and Ophelia, and while there was some characters I couldn't stand the one that I couldn't stand the most was Ophelia's sister. Other thing I liked about this book was how the author bright to life how it was for someone who had OCD, ( in fact I think this the first book I've read where the character has OCD) , so if you're looking for a book that is hard to put down, the cover is beautiful, and it's a dark fantasy Gothic paranormal horror romance and mixed in with very hot Steamy scenes as well as non stop creepiness that nightmares are made of and let's not forget the creepy voice that comes out to play throughout the story, then this is right up your alley.

ABOUT THE BOOK:

Welcome to Phantasma.

There are only two rules to the game. Stay alive. And don’t fall in love.

When Ophelia’s sister disappears, there is only one way to save her. Ophelia must enter Phantasma, a deadly contest inside a haunted mansion, and claim its prize—
a single wish.

Phantasma is a maze of twisting corridors and lavish ballrooms, of demons and temptations. Ophelia will face nine challenges, each more dangerous than the last. There can only be one winner, and the other contestants will stop at nothing to eliminate their rivals.

Every day the house creates new monsters. But just as Ophelia’s fears threaten to overwhelm her,
a mysterious stranger offers her a bargain.

Charming, arrogant and infuriatingly attractive,
Blackwell claims he can guide her through the lethal trials ahead. All he asks in return is ten years of her life.

Ophelia knows she shouldn’t trust him. Blackwell doesn’t seem dangerous, but appearances can be deceptive. Worse still, she feels a dark and irresistible attraction drawing them closer and closer.

Her life is on the line.
But in Phantasma, the only thing deadlier than losing the game is losing your heart…

A Court of Thorns and Roses meets Caraval in this seductive fantasy adventure. With steamy romance, a sexy morally gray love interest, OCD rep and jaw-dropping twists, Phantasma is perfect for fans of Rebecca Yarros, Nisha J. Tuli and Carissa Broadbent.
