If they expected silence, they hired the wrong woman.

My thoughts

Rating:4

Would I recommend it? Yes

Would I read more by this author? Maybe

First of I  want to say a huge thank you to Partners in Crime Tours as well as to the publisher Thomas Nelson--FICTION, the author Cara C. Putman and NetGalley for inviting me to join the blog tour for this book as well as letting me read and review it. Because of them I was introduce to a new author and found a book that was a mixture of legal thriller as well as medical thriller, and other thing is how surprised I was that I actually enjoyed it a lot more then I thought I would because in the past I tried to read Christian mysterious before and just couldn't do it, I just couldn't enjoy the story or even get past the first couple of chapters, but with this one I had no problem at all. Here is just some of the things I liked about the story

List

How the author tacked the hard topic of  cutting edge research with genetic therapies for leukemia treatments for kids, and how far some labs are willing to go to get rich as fast as they can.

The characters came to life and was  compelling,  and faced real-world situations that tugged at the heart strings. And showed how strong they could be.

And with each turn of the page there was something always happening that made either your heart feel like it was going to break or had you setting at the edge of your set.

Synopsis:
If they expected silence, they hired the wrong woman.
This latest romantic legal thriller by bestseller Cara Putman shines a light on the shadowy world of scientific secrets and corporate vendettas—and the ethical dilemmas that plague the place where science and commerce meet.

Caroline Bragg’s life has never been better. She and Brandon Lancaster are taking their relationship to the next level, and she has a new dream job as legal counsel for Praecursoria

a research lab that is making waves with its cutting-edge genetic therapies. The company’s leukemia treatments even promise to save desperately sick kids—kids like eleven-year-old Bethany, a critically ill foster child at Brandon’s foster home.

When Caroline’s enthusiastic boss wants to enroll Bethany in experimental trials prematurely, Caroline objects, putting her at odds with her colleagues. They claim the only goal at Praecursoria is to save lives. But does someone have another agenda ?

Brandon faces his own crisis. As laws governing foster homes shift, he’s on the brink of losing the group home he’s worked so hard to build. When Caroline learns he’s a Praecursoria investor, it becomes legally impossible to confide in him. Will the secrets she keeps become a wedge that separates them forever? And can she save Bethany from the very treatments designed to heal her?

Mutation (A Unit 51 Novel)

Welcome to my review of Mutation (A Unit 51 Novel)

IT LIVES.

In a research hangar in Virginia, a Unit 51 team studies an ancient but long-dormant virus that can transform human physiology—and turn it into something else.

My thoughts

Rating: 5

Series: Unit 51 #3

First off I want to give a big thanks to the publisher Pinnacle-Kensington Books, the author  Michael McBride, and to NetGalley for letting me request and read it. Now on to my thoughts , am so glad that I picked this up this year since I was to have to read it last year since it was one of the books I was so looking forward to unfortunately it took a back set thanks to all of the craziness of 2020, in fact to get ready for this one I even re read books 1 Subhuman and book 2: Forsaken which made me fell back in love with this series , and reminded me why its one of my favorite series. Once again this book had everything and so much more in it that keeps me hooked when I want to just set and read . And with this one just like that other 2 you get lost in the book and don't want it to end. So if your looking for a book or series that will have you setting on the edge of your set then this might be the one your looking for what more can you want then a book that has all this in it : Science, Excitement, Creatures, Mythology, Religion, Black Ops, Virus, Nazis, Adventure and so much danger , and characters that will make you fall in love with them all over no matter how many times you read this series .

IT LIVES.

In a research hangar in Virginia, a Unit 51 team studies an ancient but long-dormant virus that can transform human physiology—and turn it into something else. . .

IT MUTATES.

In the Amazon rainforest, a newly evolving life form known as Subject Z acquires the ability to think conceptually, build elaborate traps, create new carriers—and spawn a new race . . .

IT SPREADS.

In Mexico and Turkey, the men and women of Unit 51 race to uncover a global link between the mutations: a connection as ancient as the oldest tombs on earth—and as alien and unknowable as the universe itself. But time is running out. The infected are growing in number. And the nightmare is going viral

Would I recommend it ? Yes

Would I read more of this series? Yes , in fact after reading this one I want to read books 1 and 2 when I can get them .

Would I read more by this author ? Yes

First of I  want to say a  huge  thank you to the publisher Bookouture , the author ,Ed James  and to NetGalley for inviting me to join the blog tour for this book as well as letting me read and review it.First time I've read anything by this author or this series and after read it ,I can't wait to get my hands on the other 2 books to read, and yes I did read it out of order but I do that some times.

So here are my thoughts

love the character Max and his partner and their inter actions

love how the author touched up on the topic of Child Abduction and how he bright it to life and showed how hard the police worked on those cases.

loved how even though I haven't read the first 2 books I was still able to get lost in the story and was able to understand what was going on and got to see some of Max's back story as well.

And how it made Max seem more real as a person then anything else, how the story just seemed to come together and just flowed so that the past and the present mixed together with out you getting lost .

And even though it deals with a hard topic I love how April Hunt brings to life how and why Bio terrorism needs to be put a stop to , she also brings to life how hard the scientists and doctors work to find the cure for this diseases as well as how hard they work to study them at their one risk. And her hard work paid off, right from the start I was hooked and didn't even want to put the book down, I loved the inter action between the friends and family of Steel and the inter action between out two main  characters Roman and Isabel. With that said I hope there will be more to this series to read and fall in love with .

First off I want to say huge  thank you to the publisher  the author , and to NetGalley for inviting me to join the blog tour for this book as well as letting me read and review it.Wow just wow , this story took off running and never stopped until the last page, it had everything I love a good thriller, which is characters that are real and you can see the in your mind, twists and turns that come out of no where, and characters that will stop at non thing to make something or even someone who's in their way of happens to disappear, and a mother that I won't want to know in real life at all. What more can you ask for in a start of a new series, that has non stop action, secrets, twists and turns , as well as shocks and surprises, all of which keep you on and off track even when you have it figured out and will keep you on the edge of your set , as well as ,make you hope that they find Jennifer in time . Description:

You thought your little girl was safe at summer camp. You were wrong…

The little girl drags her eyes open, realizing she’s starting to fade. She tries calling out—“Daddy?”—using all her remaining strength. But she’s too late and her voice just isn’t loud enough…

When Detective Madison Harper arrives at a remote summer camp in Shadow Falls, northern California, her heart breaks for Jenny, the sweet little girl last seen splashing in the lake with her friends before she vanished. Peering into the silent cabins filled with rows of neatly made beds, Madison knows this idyllic place is hiding a terrible secret.

The girl’s parents are distraught, and the local police have no leads—they desperately need Madison’s help. She’ll do whatever it takes to crack this case, because it’s the only way back to the son she lost to the care system years ago when she was framed for a crime she didn’t commit.

But with the camp staff keeping tight-lipped and her new partner on the edge of a breakdown, Madison can’t find any truth to her instinct that there is more to Jenny’s perfect parents than meets the eye. Until she discovers a disturbing family portrait Jenny drew at the local library. Was this angelic girl more troubled than anybody knew? Was she in danger from those she trusted most?

One thing is certain, if Madison doesn't find the answers soon, the lives of more innocent children will be at risk…

An absolutely unputdownable crime thriller that will keep you up all night! Perfect for fans of Angela Marsons, Robert Dugoni and Melinda Leigh.

Caly

Do you dream of ridiculously hot men? Okay, maybe you do. (And yes, I'm well aware I should lay off the romance books before bed.) But do you actually ever meet those men you dream about in real life? I didn't think so. That's probably a good thing though because I have... And these men from my dreams have done nothing but pull the rug of reality out from under me... which was how I fell and ended up in a world that I thought only existed in romance books.

My name is Caly (AKA Callie) and I'm just an ordinary single woman living the LA dream... paycheck to paycheck. Except whose dream is it? I'm not really sure... but it's not my dream. Especially because I have really weird dreams... like really weird. Then again, everyone has weird dreams, right?

Blake

I am an alpha wolf shifter and leader of Orion's Order, a pack of... well, not wolves. We're an unconventional pack of highly skilled specian hunters that do one thing: hunt the evil in our world. And we were hired by SILE (Species Investigative Law Enforcement) to hunt a bloodthirsty criminal who is infamously untraceable. That was until an irresistible female brought an unexpected twist to our hunt and set things in motion... a motion that has left my pack and our world forever changed.

Welcome to The Order and a secret world of magic and mystery, where a pack of unlikely friends find love and fight against an ancient evil force.

Devour this addictive series at your own risk…

It was non stop action from the start, great world building, and characters that make you either like them or hate them right away, and while that times it felt a bit slow it didn't take anything from the story I would even go so far to say that it help it in main ways
