Buddy Read with : Alexis and Carissa.Ann
First off a big thanks to Hachette Audio for sending me the redeem code for it though play books , as well as thanks to Alexis and Carissa.Ann for doing this as a buddy read this month with me , because other wise it might have been a little while before I got to it. Not because it's nonfiction, but because if you know me you know that I tend to stay away from anything that deals with politics , I don't even watch about on TV or read about in any forum so this type of book was out of my comfort zone, but it was also part of our history I had no idea about and that I do like learning about. So you could say I was going into this book 100% blind. Which might be a good thing but at this moment looking back I'm glad I didn't know anything about what happened. And here's why : I was raised that you respect law officials and how they go out each and every day and risk their lives to protect people but as soon as I started this book and realized what the now president did back in 2021 , it upset me , and the only question that came to my mind was how can someone who says his for the people , send a group of crazies to storm the Capital without giving any thought to the men and women who police officers there , because though out this book you hear the text message he posted and not once did send out any concern or consideration for their safety, it wasn't until much later in the day that he finally did that and by then it was to late . With that thought in my mind ,maybe this wasn't the right book for ,but it's still part of our history that need to be known, and I do have to say that the author and the others Mary Clare Jalonick, Lisa Flanagan, Soneela Nankani, Timothy Andrés Pabon, Leon Nixon and Arthur Morey do bring the story to life , and the PDF especially helps with at. Also I want to say that police officers who was there will all ways be in our hearts as well their families.
