My thoughts
Would I recommend it? Yes
Would I read more by this author? Yes, in fact right before I read this one I actually read her The Darkest Minds ( book 1 in The Darkest Minds series) .
Now to start off my review like I always do with a huge thank you to the publisher Hyperion-Disney Publishing Worldwide ,the author Alexandra Bracken , and to NetGalley as well as a think once again to Taylor for picking it and for making me finally reading , since she's been telling me to pick it up ever since I told her I had it from NetGalley and still hadn't read it lol. And here's the thing I don't know why it took me this long to read it has everything in that I love which is :
!; Young Adult
2:Greek Mythology
3:Urban Fantasy - one of my go to genres when I want to get lost in a story
4:Romance
And the cover is beautiful which is what made me request it as soon as I saw it. The only 2 things I can thing up for not waiting to pick it is I wasn't in the mood for it at the time and 2nd it also be that while I liked her book The Darkest Minds it took me a while to get into the story , while with this one just after starting it and read like 5 to 6 pages I was hooked , and as soon as I message Taylor that , in my mind I could see her doing a happy dance . As for the story I loved it , I loved how she wrote the story line , how she set up her world so that it was easy to fellow and just get lost in , and the characters were well written, and my absolute favorite was Lore , how she was there for friends no matter what, her love for her family , and her love for her family's history .
Every seven years, the Agon begins. As punishment for a past rebellion, nine Greek gods are forced to walk the earth as mortals, hunted by the descendants of ancient bloodlines, all eager to kill a god and seize their divine power and immortality.
Long ago, Lore Perseous fled that brutal world in the wake of her family's sadistic murder by a rival line, turning her back on the hunt's promises of eternal glory. For years she's pushed away any thought of revenge against the man--now a god--responsible for their deaths.
Yet as the next hunt dawns over New York City, two participants seek out her help: Castor, a childhood friend of Lore believed long dead, and a gravely wounded Athena, among the last of the original gods.
The goddess offers an alliance against their mutual enemy and, at last, a way for Lore to leave the Agon behind forever. But Lore's decision to bind her fate to Athena's and rejoin the hunt will come at a deadly cost--and still may not be enough to stop the rise of a new god with the power to bring humanity to its knee
