My thoughts Rating: 4 Would I recommend it? Yes , ever since I started reading this series I've been talking about to my friends,some even said they would check it or have added to their TBR. Would I read more of this series? Yes, I'm hooked on it and have already read all 3 books in this series. Would I read more by this author? Yes First off I want to thank the publisher Carina Press-Harlequin for the invite to read it and to continue on with this series as well as a big thinks to the author and Netgalley because this is one of my all time favorite male /male firefighter romance series that I love to read, in fact I think its the only one I've ever read. One of the reason I loved this one was is that it was a second chance romance where the two main characters got a chance at been together and getting to fellow your dreams , it was well written and very sweet,and the story just came to life right before your very eyes.

“I’m sorry, we’re getting who?” Tucker was usually all about getting through the morning

meeting as quickly as possible, and he’d learned through years of working with Fred that too

many questions would slow the boss down, lead to tangents and rambles and a lost morning he

could have been working. And a lost morning meant being late getting out of here in the

afternoon, meant another hasty dinner for him and the twins and grumbles all around. So he

made a point of paying attention to the announcements and getting information right the first

time, but this time he had to have heard Fred wrong.

“New fire behavior specialist out of California—Angeles National Forest is sending him since

we’re still under a hiring freeze and now down to a bare-bones operation. You know all that.

You were complaining about overtime last week.”

“I get that we need some more boots on the ground. But I’ve been working as burn boss the

last several fires, and Garrick’s coming along too. Would be nice if they’d send us some more

admin support and not someone who’s going to expect a leadership role.”

“Don’t get your feathers ruffled. You’re both an asset to incident command, sure, but we need

this guy’s fire behavior experience, especially as it pertains to arson. He’s got the analytical

skills we can use and the experience to back it up.”

“Glad they’re finally taking the arson suspicions seriously. And what did you say the name

was?” That last part was what he really wanted to know. He could deal with the problem of too

many chefs in the kitchen, but he could have sworn Fred had said—

“Luis Rivera. Comes to us with great experience.”

“Sounds good.” He managed a nod, even as his head swam. Fuck. Maybe there were a lot of

guys with that name in the LA area. Maybe it was some stodgy near-retiree and not the darkest,

deepest pair of eyes Tucker had ever known. The voice husky and earnest. The smile he’d never

forget.

“Apparently he knows the area at least a little is what his boss told me on the phone.”

And with that, Tucker’s cornflakes and coffee turned to bricks in his stomach, a heavy weight

he hadn’t felt in eons. There might be plenty of guys with that name in California but there had

only been one Luis Rivera in central Oregon, the one who’d left with Tucker’s heart all those

years ago.

“They’re making me go.” Luis’s voice had wavered, first time Tucker had seen him cry since

he’d broken his arm back on a fourth grade dare, and even then, he’d been more mad than sad,

all sputtering bravado. This was a level of devastation Tucker had never seen from his friend.

His chest hurt, like he was some hapless cartoon character and his heart really had been

cleaved in half by this news. Scooting closer, he wrapped an arm around Luis’s slim shoulders,

trying to be brave for both of them.

“You could stay with us to finish school. Share my room and—”

“I’m hardly your parents’ favorite person.” Luis’s weighty sigh hit Tucker like that time a

swing had slammed into his gut, because he was right. Tucker’s parents weren’t going to come

charging in to save the day.

“I’ll wait for you,” he promised.

Only Tucker hadn’t. And if it was that same Luis, well, there wasn’t going to be any avoiding

him. As shorthanded as they were, it wasn’t like Tucker could claim some of his mountain of

unused vacation days. Fred would want him working closely with this person. But maybe he

could figure a way around—

“Should be here any minute.”

Or not. Damn it. He needed time to sort himself out, time he apparently wasn’t going to get

because here came Fred’s assistant, Christine, knocking at the conference room door, ushering

in…

A stranger.

Not the boy Tucker had known. A man. One with a couple of flecks of gray in his dark hair,

which was neatly styled, not all choppy and goth, and he had a lean, muscular build, taller than

him by a couple of inches, not some scrawny kid. His shoulders were solid, a man who had

known his share of heavy labor, and the biceps peeking out of his forest service polo said he kept

that work up. The edge of a tattoo played peekaboo with his sleeve. Tucker’s memory had miles

of smooth tawny skin, no tattoos or scars like the one this guy had on his other arm.

But right when Tucker’s shoulders were about to relax, the pit in his stomach starting to ease,

the guy frowned, and Tucker would recognize that hard, defiant look anywhere. Luis’s head

tilted, revealing the familiar curve of his neck to his shoulder that Tucker remembered all too

well.

“Tucker?” The Californian accent drew out the vowels in his name, an effect that could make

him feel special and singled out when whispered on a starless night. But add a little disdain and a

deeper timbre than Tucker recalled, and it made him feel like an unwanted extra in a surfing

movie.

“Yeah.” He nodded, head feeling untethered, like a helium balloon about to escape.

“What the—” Luis blinked, then drew his shoulders back, professional distance taking over,

smoothing his facial features and softening his next few words. “Sorry. Wasn’t expecting…”

“Y’all know each other?” Fred stood to greet the newcomer with a hearty handshake. “Now,

that’s just great. Small world, right?”

“Right,” Tucker echoed weakly, unable to take his eyes off Luis. “Small world.”

Too small. Especially considering that he’d once seen the miles between them as an

uncrossable sea, a distance so great it made his brain hurt almost as much as his heart. Once upon

a time, he would have given anything to end up in the same room again, weeks of working

together looming, and now he’d trade an awful lot to avoid it.

Would i read more of this series ? Yes , in fact I've already read books 1-6 and can't wait to read the last 3 books.

Would i recommend it? Yes , been doing that and enabling my friends to pick this series up to read.

Would i read more by this author? Yes 

First off like I do each and every time I want to say thank you to the publishers as well as the authors for inviting me to read and review this book as well as NetGalley for letting me post my reviews there. Now on to my thoughts of the book , once again its a win with me not only because of the cover but because these authors aren't afraid to talk about hard topics that need to to be talked about, they have a way of bring the story to live as well as their characters, and reaching out and having you hooked and in love with the characters before the story is over. And this one  you will make you feel things like never before, because its a on a topic that we see in movies, on the news as well as on tv shows  and that's about the  underworld  of organ trafficking and the dangerous of it. Like I said this series is win because it makes you feel human, have amazing characters that you can't help feeling for, the story line its  masterful writing and the action is non stop from start to finish. So if you haven't picked up this series yet what are you waiting for,

First off i want to thank Bookouture for inviting me to join the blog tour for this book as well as letting me read and review .And for introducing me to a new author as well as a new series .And a big thanks to NetGalley as well. As soon as I saw it I knew this was something I would  definitely pick up and read as well as enjoy and I was right , it was like I was reading some of my favorite authors since its like some thing they would write : Brad Thor ,Lee Child,just to  name a few. And can I can also say it a great start to a new series one that I want more of . The biggest thing I loved about it was how well the author wrote a compelling plot line all the while  weaving it together with a mixture of  romance, non stop action , religion, political conspiracy and having  amazing characters.

Peter Hogenkamp was born in upstate New York and attended the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. (Go Crusaders!) He graduated in 1986 and was exiled to Europe for three years by his premedical adviser, for which he will be grateful the rest of his days. When I try to piece together how this whole mess began, a part of me thinks it may have started over thirty years ago. At least the seeds were planted that far back, in the early 1980s. What happened then, at that summer camp in Texas, set the stage for everything that was to come.

Odd, how something so remote in time and geography continues to impact me here, today.

Sometimes I try to imagine her, how she felt—that eleven year-old girl—as she ran, stumbling and tripping through the woods that night. I try to put myself in her shoes. When I do, I wonder if she was frightened.

Did she understand the consequences of what she’d gotten herself into? I imagine it felt otherworldly to her, like a dream. But not a good dream. No, one of the bad ones—the ones that make your heart machine-gun as you try to outrun some dark thing that’s chasing you. But the faster you try to run, the slower you go, your legs feeling leaden, clumsy, useless.

Panic sets in. Tears of frustration form. Fear takes hold and won’t let go. You open your mouth to scream but realize, to your horror, that you’re paralyzed. It’s not that you can’t scream; you can’t even breathe. Not a dream—a nightmare.

Then again, all that may simply be my imagination. It could just be me projecting what I might have felt onto Joan. Maybe she wasn’t scared at all.

True, it was dark out. The night smelled of rain, but there was no lightning, only the far-off rumble of thunder hinting at a distant storm. There were no trail lights, no visibility but for the moon peeking out intermittently from behind a patchwork of clouds. But, Joan had been down this trail before. She was running toward the main cabin.

She had been at Camp Willow for almost two full weeks. She had been up and down that trail at least ten times a day, every day. Of course, that was during the day, and always with her buddy, or a camp counselor (the children called them troop leaders). Joan had never been on the trail at night. And never alone.

Maybe I imagine Joan was scared because, as an adult, I believe that she should have been. I would have been terrified.

Would I recommend it? Yes, in fact as soon as I saw the what the book was I started to take about .

Would I read more by these authors ? Yes

First of I want to say thank you to the publisher Atria Books- St.Martins for inviting me to read and review it as well as giving thanks to NetGalley because up until now I've never read or even heard about this case ,so it was a brand new to me which was a shock because I tend to listen to a lot of true  crime podcast as well as read quite a lot of nonfiction and some of that is on true crimes or serial killers. This story is told in away that you get the story of both the author as well as the one about Tony Costa , and it brings to live how sick he was and how lucky she and her sister was to be alive today because they could have been his victims. You also see how both the sisters was treated and how  Liz tried to keep herself as well as her sister safe. And the more you read about Tony you see how dark and twisted he was from the very start , from how he treated his wife ( who at times made me feel sorry for her) and how he seemed to have some kind of pull that made his victims come to him. Over all its well written and researched, and at times hard to read, especially when it delved into his crimes because it makes you feel the pain that the families went though. 

A chilling true story—part memoir, part crime investigation—reminiscent of Ann Rule’s classic The Stranger Beside Me, about a little girl longing for love and how she found friendship with her charismatic babysitter—who was also a vicious serial killer.

This is the first time I read anything by this author and I'm so glad I picked it up because it had me laughing from the very start. And it was all because of Mr.Leo ( his the black cat on the cover ) and man was he funny, right from the start he become my favorite character of the book, and I just couldn't get enough of him, because of how snarky and quirky he was , in fact there was a lot of quirky characters though out the story but no one can top Mr. Leo , his the best,especially when his reminding Raven that his called Mr.Leo , not Leo but Mr.Leo ( and I had to laugh because when he did that I kept remembering the scene of one of my favorite movies where he says they call me Mr. Tibbs ), plus his Raven's new  familiar as well as her teacher in magic which I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing because with the two of them chaos seems to happen, so if your looking for a cozy mystery that will have you laughing , a slight romance , a snark and quirky cat,mixed in with murder then you need to check this one out. 

An inherited tea shop, a quaint little Connecticut town, and its quirky residents have Raven Marigold believing her luck is about to change for the better. Of course, that was before she and her best friend found a dead body in the back of the charming store. Things go from bad to worse when Raven begins to hear a talking cat spouting on and on about magic and mayhem.

Once Raven accepts that she's not losing her mind, she finds herself in the middle of a murder investigation while discovering her family's unusual lineage--the Marigolds are bona fide witches!

Would I recommend it? Yes , in fact a lot of my friends have said they want to get this one as well as the the cat one .

Would I read more by this author? It would depend on the book itself.

First off I want to say thank you to publisher Hachette for sending me a copy of this to read and review , and I'm so glad that they did because its cuteness overkill with all of the photos of puppies, I know the cover was going to be cute which is what got me to ask if I could read and review pus the dog breed is one of my all time favorite breeds in the world, but as soon as I opened it and saw the rest of the book. I know I had to share it with my friends and they even agreed that it was 100% the cutest book they every saw. Other thing I loved was how each puppy was placed with an astrology sing .
